Master of Liesborn · The Annunciation, 1475
The angel arrives in a tiled Netherlandish room rather than anywhere Palestinian, with a view through to a garden. The Master of Liesborn is named after the abbey his altarpiece was made for, because his actual name is lost. The panel was later cut up and the pieces are now in several countries.
