Cyril Power · Speed Trial, 1932
A speed trial reduced to the shape speed makes: the car, the road and the air around it pulled into the same set of curves. Each colour in a linocut is a separate block cut by hand and printed in turn, so the simplification is not a style choice so much as the medium insisting on it.
