Ethel Spowers · Children’s Hoops, 1936
Children running with hoops, arranged so the hoops make a line of circles across the sheet and carry the movement on their own. Spowers exhibited with the Grosvenor School group in the 1930s, and this is their whole programme in one image: modern life, reduced to rhythm and cut into lino.
