A warship from Trafalgar, stripped of her masts and guns, being towed up the Thames by a squat black steam tug to be broken up. Turner has made the old ship pale and almost weightless and the tug hard and dark, and put a sunset behind them that could not have been in that part of the sky. He refused to sell it, and called it his darling.
