Katsushika Hokusai · Fine Wind, Clear Morning (Red Fuji), 1830–32
The same mountain as the Great Wave, from the same series of thirty-six views, but here Fuji fills the picture and is briefly red. The effect is a real one, caught at dawn in late summer under particular conditions. The whole print is three colours and a band of streaked cloud.
