Ohara Koson · Group of Egrets, 1925–36
Egrets grouped together, white against a plain ground, with the white supplied by the bare paper rather than by any ink. The birds are drawn with an economy that leaves out everything except neck, leg and beak, which is the discipline the medium imposes.
