Twelve woodblock prints by the most widely collected artist of the shin-hanga revival. Koson worked almost entirely in kachō-e, the genre of birds, animals and flowers, and these span some thirty years of it. Each print was built from separately carved blocks, inked and pressed one after another, which is why the colours sit in flat unshaded areas and the empty paper counts for as much as the subject. The pack holds one of each of these twelve cards: - Irises, 1925-36 - Blossoming Cherry on a Moonlit Night, c.1926 - Great Spotted Woodpecker in Tree With Red Ivy, 1925-36 - Group of Egrets, 1925-36 - Two Women in the Rain, 1925-36 - Blooming Azalea in Brown Pot, 1925-30 - Egrets and Reeds in Moonlight, 1926 - Two Veil Goldfish, 1926 - Roaring Tiger, 1900-45 - Long-Eared Owl in Ginkgo, 1900-30 - Monkey Hanging From Bamboo Branch, 1900-30 - Kingfisher With Lotus Flower, 1900-45 Each card is 5 × 7 inches (127 × 177 mm), printed in the UK on 324gsm fine art card with a satin finish, blank inside for your own message, with a gummed brown kraft envelope. The twelve cards and envelopes arrive in a plain postal box with a folding lid, which can be re-closed and used to keep them in. These are the same cards we sell individually; the only difference is that they are not separately wrapped, and the pack costs less than buying the twelve on their own.
