Vincent Van Gogh · Van Gogh's Bedroom in Arles, 1889
The bedroom in the Yellow House at Arles, painted to look restful, with the colour doing the work. Van Gogh made three versions. The perspective is skewed because the room itself was an irregular shape, not because he drew it wrong, and the missing chair is where a visitor would have sat.
